lets begin with the name...

Hello,

The name 'Nikki can 4 YA' is an abbreviation for Nikki (me) can (cancer, australia, network) 4 (for) YA (young adults).

It basically means that I am putting myself out into wider world to commit to the cause of starting Australia's first support network for the young adult (ages 25-40) cancer community.

Today's blog entry is the beginning of this process.

Wish me luck, advice and lots of hope in connecting us all,
Nikki

Well done Nicole! It's great to see that their is finally more avenues for young adults to chat about the big C. I will keep a close eye on your blog and contribute as much as possible. Good luck and I look forward to your first posts.

Thanks for being the first person on my blog!

Perhaps you can blog what your connection is with Nikkican4YA so others can hear why you are connected with the young adults cancer community...

Hi Nikki,

Megan from Planet Cancer here, Thought I'd drop in and say I support you 100% with this and will lend a hand when ever you need it.
Hopefully I'll be able to drum up some support from Victoria because as I said before, this is something the "lost" age range really need.

I think every time I see some activity mentioned on PC for people our age, I wish we had something the same here in Aus.

Hi Megan,

Welcome!

I would love your help to make our YA force grow... please do pass on my blog address or email address to all those wonderful people you know. They can also be the family, friends and loved ones who support us YA through our cancer and are probably feeling just as left out as we are.

This is only the first 24 hours of kicking this blog idea off, and look at the support already, its going to an awesome force that others will have to take notice of.

WE want YA from all over Australia included, so bring on the Victorians I say!

Nikki,

You are an inspiration !

Have sent your blog to everyone I can think who will be interested (or who will know someone who is).

Be ready to fly as this will be a huge success! The need is already there and news will spread like wildfire via our email contacts.

Hold on for the ride!

Love Lou

As suggested by Nik, I thought I would let everyone know how I am and will be connected to the young adults cancer community. Roughly six months ago, my life changed considerably; I had a coffee with Nikki Shipard. Today I am happy and proud to call her my partner and I support her 110% in her plans to create a YA cancer community.

I am just beginning to learn about the impact cancer can have on someones life. But I look forward to learning more, not only from Nik, but also from everyone contributing to this community.

Hi Lou, Rick & Norval, thanks so much for your input!

Lou, great that you have passed this blog on to all those people you know might be needing help, and thanks for your encouragement for this project and your supportive partnerships in the many before.

Rick, you are the bravest and most helpful partner a girl can have. Thanks for being so open and sharing with other people why you are a part of this community. It can't be easy listening to my constant rambelings about the cancer world!

Norval, my mate around the corner who is also travelling on a massive journey of recovery, you inspire me to no end!

Can anyone recommend the well-priced RMM program for a small IT service company like mine? Does anyone use Kaseya.com or GFI.com? How do they compare to these guys I found recently: N-able N-central it outsourcing
? What is your best take in cost vs performance among those three? I need a good advice please... Thanks in advance!
